Each
year, the USAG State Advisory Committee is asked to name a
Contributor of the Year from our state. This award is an effort to
recognize and thank one individual for their contributions to our
sport. It is clear that there are many people in Missouri who
advance our sport in many ways, be it through raising the bar for
competition, serving as a judge in our state for many years or
volunteering their time and effort for the benefit of our sport.
This year, the committee felt there was one individual who over the
last 2 years has made unparalleled improvements in our gymnastics
community. Kim Fuchs became the State Administrative Committee
Chairwoman in 2004 and has since worked steadily to provide better
communication, encourage more involvement from all professional
members in Missouri, educate our general population about how the
gymnastics organization works and advance Missouri’s standing within
Region IV and Nationally. Kim and her Eagles Gymnastics Team have
been fixtures in Missouri gymnastics since the early 80’s and now
with her position of SACC she has shaped the landscape of our sport
even more. Her efforts for the benefit of all have been the
biggest, most positive and widespread changes in Missouri over the
last decade. We hope you all will join us, the Missouri SAC, in
thanking Kim for her tremendous and often times thankless work for
our community.
