USAG Talent Opportunity Program

General Info

The USA Gymnastics Talent Opportunity Program is designed to identify characteristics of possible successful elite gymnasts at a very young age. Several past and current elite level gymnasts that represent the US have participated in this TOP’s program. The program is based on a series of strength, flexibility and speed exercises that are measured against other athletes in the United States. These physical abilities are tested at the State, Regional and National Level.

MISSOURI TOP’s State Manager

Bill Witthar, Owner and head Coach at BEST Gymnastics, is the designated TOPS State Manager for Missouri. He is responsible for setting up and evaluating any athlete that would like to participate in this USA Gymnastics sponsored program. After coaching and working with high level gymnasts for over 15 years he wanted to find a way to be able to bring more information from the USA National Training Center and spread the methods of training that our top USA athletes are learning from and use that to help every level of gymnast all over the state.

TOP’s TESTING DATES

Right now some tentative dates in mid-to-late July 2007 are being looked at to conduct a TOP’s testing for Missouri Athletes. Please call with any questions.
